1/6/2009Kelvin 5k Fun Run to bring music to kids ears
The Kevin 5k Fun Run onthe 13th of Junewill be exciting way to raise funds to help entertain the children inthe Yorkhill Sick Children ward. All funds raised will go to RadioLollipop which “believes in the healing power of play - providingsmiles and laughter to children at a time when they need it most”.The race will start at 2pm at the Gray Street entrance to KelvingrovePark, but all runners must register by 1.30pm. Entry only costs £5pounds and is open to anyone over the age of 15. The race is beingorganised by Partick Trinity Church running club and not only aims toraise funds for the charity radio station, but also to promote ahealthy, active community event.
Radio Lollipop will beproviding motivational tunes during the event to encourage therunners through the park. As an added bonus all runners will bewelcomed over the finish line with a free burger and a goodie bag toreward them for their hard work on the day.
The event will coincidewith the Glasgow West End festival adding to the exciting atmosphereof the festivities. Everyone is welcome, whether to run your besttime or just to have a leisurely walk in the park for charity. Localcouncillor Aileen Colleran will also be present to get the run off toa good start.

As Partick Trinity church, we really want to be part ofmaking a difference in our local community.”
